I’ve always found hard to describe myself but my name is Rafael, I'm a 29 year old Brazilian software engineer. I am a man of many passions and, despite working as a SWE, I would not say that tech is necessarily one of them. I am very interested in art, especially film and music. Some of my favorite directors are Akira Kurosawa, John Cassavetes, Orson Welles, Martin Scorsese and Paul Thomas Anderson. Some of my favorite musical artists are Bob Dylan, Ween, Os Mulheres Negras, Silver Jews, Jorge Ben Jor, A Tribe Called Quest and many many others. I also play games on a regular basis, mostly single player story driven ones like RPGs.
I’ve decided to start blogging as a way to fulfill the desire I’ve been having to creatively express myself and stop just being a passive consumer of things on the internet (I've wrote about this on this blog post). I’ve also been curious to explore how people have been using the internet outside the big social media platforms so hopefully this blog will help me get more into the world of personal websites/blogs.
